About me
I run my private practice from consulting rooms in Ashley Cross. My theoretical approach to psychotherapy is integrative underpinned
by the
Clarkson
Relationship model which places emphasis on the therapeutic relationship.
I have regular supervision with a qualified and experienced supervisor
and am in regular ongoing personal therapy. I hold professional and personal
liability insurance.
I have been working as a therapist since 1997 when I qualified with a CPCAB Diploma
in Therapeutic Counselling. I have since attended further training at the
Institute of Psychosynthesis in London, Professor Petruska Clarkson’s
Physis Institute in Harley Street, London and Southampton University where
I attained a First
Class BA (Hons) in Counselling. I became accredited with the British Association
of Counsellors and Psychotherapists in May 2004 and abide by the BACP
Ethical framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy.
You can read more about this at www.bacp.co.uk.
I work with adults, both one-to-one and couples and adolescents. Some
clients refer themselves, others are referred by doctors, employers or personal
recommendation.
I keep abreast of new developments and research about therapy and the
world in general by engaging in continual professional development of my own
practice in a variety of ways:
- By attending courses and workshops throughout the year
- By reading journals
and topical books
- By watching popular and independent films both in English
and foreign languages
- By
participating in media interviews and discussions on contemporary issues
